Acne definition
-Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common human skin disease, characterized by areas of skin with multiple noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules in its more severe forms.
Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, blemishes, spots, zits, or simply acne.
They are found in areas where there are more sebaceous glands like face, shoulder, back, and chest.Acne occurs most commonly during adolescence and frequently continues into adulthood.Aside from scarring, its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem.
CAUSES:
Unhealthy lifestyle(eating oily foods), frequent touching of face, stress, less water intake, too oily face which clogs pores, not getting enough zzzZZZs, hormonal imbalance.. etc..etc..
Im one of those who have clear skin but due to my oily skin and active lifestyle,my skin tends to have breakouts occasionally.I have tried lots of products already and until now I am still in the lookout for that perfect zit zapping treatment.
Some of the products Ive tried are:
sulphur soap- It dries out the skin, and I dont like the smell
tea tree oil- sticky in the face, I only use it at night, I didnt notice if it was effective or not. LOL
lemon soap/pimple soap- which I bought from my derma, uhhm.. not effective for me
maxipeel- i didnt like the peeling and redness, it just dried the upper layer of my skin
panoxyl- wasnt effective also
benzac- hmmm... it just dried my skin also
tretinoin(retin A) - effective indeed.
my fave is the acne lotion which I bought at watsons medicine counter. I forgot the brand already.I think it has tretinoin also and it dried my pimples fast.
Right now, I am using eurocin if there are any zits, I wash my face using celeteque, and I take vit. E thrice a week. And I must say that my face cleared up!
tips!
drink lots of water.
-Ive notice that zits also appear when I dont drink enough water the whole day.
wash your face 2-3 times a day but dont overdo it.
Avoid using heavy makeups or putting too much of it.
dont touch your face! or just make sure your hands are always clean.
wash your cosmetic brushes regularly
Use a noncomedogenic makeup and facial wash.
Anyway, these are just solely based on my experiences.
