be a princess at etude house

The moment you enter the door, you'll hear them saying, "welcome princess!".

I visited etude house yesterday at sm megamall, and I was so enthusiastic to see their products. It's like a make up haven for girls! everything was pink and bright! When I got there I didn't know where to go first. I was really excited to try all their products.really! I planned to buy their bb cream but it was out of stock. Its their bestseller by the way.

my reviews? hmmm...
Their prices are cheaper than face shop, elianto, and body shop.

Their products are sooo cute you'd like to try em all!

I bought peach tea foaming cleanser, proof 10 aqua tint, and eye styling pencil.

For the foaming cleanser, I love how it smells and you just have to apply a small
amount of it into your face.(very foamy indeed!)It costs only 148php

For the lip tint, I love the red color which gives my lips a natural color.Plus it stays longer. I bought it for 300+php only

For the styling pen, its very cheap! its only 128php

Overall I should say, reasonable prices.colorful pretty stuffs!

got acne?

Acne definition
-Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common human skin disease, characterized by areas of skin with multiple noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules in its more severe forms.

Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, blemishes, spots, zits, or simply acne.

They are found in areas where there are more sebaceous glands like face, shoulder, back, and chest.Acne occurs most commonly during adolescence and frequently continues into adulthood.Aside from scarring, its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem.

CAUSES:

Unhealthy lifestyle(eating oily foods), frequent touching of face, stress, less water intake, too oily face which clogs pores, not getting enough zzzZZZs, hormonal imbalance.. etc..etc..

Im one of those who have clear skin but due to my oily skin and active lifestyle,my skin tends to have breakouts occasionally.I have tried lots of products already and until now I am still in the lookout for that perfect zit zapping treatment.

Some of the products Ive tried are:

sulphur soap- It dries out the skin, and I dont like the smell

tea tree oil- sticky in the face, I only use it at night, I didnt notice if it was effective or not. LOL

lemon soap/pimple soap- which I bought from my derma, uhhm.. not effective for me

maxipeel- i didnt like the peeling and redness, it just dried the upper layer of my skin

panoxyl- wasnt effective also

benzac- hmmm... it just dried my skin also

tretinoin(retin A) - effective indeed.

my fave is the acne lotion which I bought at watsons medicine counter. I forgot the brand already.I think it has tretinoin also and it dried my pimples fast.

Right now, I am using eurocin if there are any zits, I wash my face using celeteque, and I take vit. E thrice a week. And I must say that my face cleared up!

tips!

drink lots of water.
-Ive notice that zits also appear when I dont drink enough water the whole day.
wash your face 2-3 times a day but dont overdo it.
Avoid using heavy makeups or putting too much of it.
dont touch your face! or just make sure your hands are always clean.
wash your cosmetic brushes regularly
Use a noncomedogenic makeup and facial wash.

Anyway, these are just solely based on my experiences.

something to be thankful about!

It's been almost a month since I last visited my site. Well , what can I say it's a New year and once again it's time for those new year's resolutions to be started! As for me, I didn't plan any. I'm tired of planning my life ahead of time. yeah I know some will raise they're eyebrows. I know the importance of planning your goals ahead of time. Last year, I made lots of resolutions for the new year and wrote it in my journal, and guess what ? I accomplished only 1 of them! That is to passed the board exams. My plans includes learning to drive a car, getting a full time job that I love etc... I felt mixed emotions realizing that I was not able achieve all of these. Last year, I spent almost half of the year trying to get a job. Yes, God did give me opportunities to practice my nursing career but I was too hesitant and choosy.

Year 2009 was a year of struggling for most of us nurses. But what I realized is that, last year was a good journey for me. I learned a lot and I must say that I'm thankful to God for those experiences. Just remember this quote:

Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any obstacles, we would be crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for regrets.

And for this year, I'm gonna live my life happily! I will be thankful for whatever it is that God will give me. I will use every opportunity that will come my way. I will not let failures be a hindrance on reaching my goals .

Good luck to all of us! xoxo

my PAL experience

I never thought that they will call me for an interview since I passed my resume last July. I actually have forgotten about it already. So here it goes, they've been calling and messaging me for an interview since October. But then, I wasn't as interested anymore because that time they called me for an interview I got these bedbugs bite all over my body and I know that they are more strict than other airlines.

A month later, they called back again for an interview schedule. I decided to give it a try and I was scheduled last Dec. 7
I went there around 12:30 and there were around 16 applicants. We were asked to fill up a form and after that Ms. Agnes explained to us the qualifications they were looking for, benefits of a cabin crew and the process you will undergo once you passed the impact interview.

Here's what happened, we were asked to speak in front and say something about yourself. ( anything you would like to share about yourself like hobbies, interests etc..) After that you'll be asked to walk towards them, turn around, then they are going to check your arms and teeth ( not just the front teeth but they will asked you to open your mouth to check whether you have gaps or decayed tooth). And that's it.
At the end, only three got in and unfortunatley, I was not accepted.

In my opinion it was due to that bedbugs bite which left marks on my right leg because they asked me what it was. =(

Still Im thankful for the experience because I learned something new again!

My Advise to those who would like to apply:

be confident as much as possible but don't sound boastful.
make sure you don't have hideous pimples or big scars
Dress to impress and look good.
be poised while talking in front of them

beauty 101- applying foundation

First, before buying a foundation it is important to know which type best suits your skin tone and condition. It should look natural and match your skin.In order to find a "perfect match" for your foundation you must test it on your face. Testing it on your wrist is a “no, no” because your wrist has a different color and undertone than your face. Also, other parts of your body may tan easier or be exposed to the sun more often than your face. Make sure the lighting in the store is close to natural light. Ask for several opinions and test a couple of color shades so you can compare.

Types of Foundation and Their Uses

There are several formulas and types of foundations on the market. The big difference is consistency.

Powder foundation is a smooth, dry formula that is common for oily skin types. The powder helps absorb oil and keeps your face looking smooth and fresh. Dry skin types usually don't like the powder because it tends to have a drying effect and leaves flakes.

Cream foundation has a thick consistency, which is common for dry skin types. It provides moisture and adds luster to dry, tired skin. This type of foundation is often used by middle-aged and older women who like something to "fill-in" the lines. Cream foundation tends to be heavier and provide more coverage. It's best to use a moisturizer first before applying foundation.

Stick foundation is similar to the cream foundation as far as texture. The "stick" design provides a convenient way to transport your make up without an awkward bottle. This formula is often used for touch up jobs and spot treatments.

Liquid foundation is used for all skin types. It is a "universal" formula. You can purchase liquid foundations that are oil-free or non-clogging. This type of foundation is versatile and can come in different coverage levels.

If you know your skin type and know the coverage level you are most comfortable with then you can decide the formula of foundation that will best fit your individual needs. Remember you need a good canvas to start with so use your three step skin care regime (cleanse, tone, moisturize) before applying foundation.
